Brian Darmody, J.D.

Brian Darmody is assistant vice president of research and economic development at the University of Maryland.
He received his J.D. in 1981 and is a member of the Maryland Bar Association. He also received his B.A. from the University of Maryland in 1977 in Government and Politics.
During his 20-year tenure at the University, Mr. Darmody has served as a university legal counsel, assistant to the president for federal and state government relations, and later as the president's senior advisor for economic development. Additionally, he has worked on various university-wide projects, including organizing its first technology transfer office, authoring the state's public/private ethics legislation for university professors, and initiating a capital funding strategy for the university's high-technology incubator building. Mr. Darmody previously served as a staff member for the US House of Representatives and the Maryland General Assembly.
