LaunchFuel has secured partnerships with such leading institutions as Virginia Tech and the MITRE Corporation.
Virginia Tech and its selected partners have created VT KnowledgeWorks, a new Technology Business Accelerator that will promote the rapid commercialization of Tech's intellectual property by creating start-up companies and providing these portfolio companies with the mentoring and support services they need to become operational. LaunchFuel, as a selected partner in the program, will help portfolio companies prepare business models, draft business plans, find senior management, form strategic partnerships with other entities, and attract initial seed funding.
LaunchFuel is working together with the MITRE Technology Transfer Office to identify and move high potential, commercially viable technology and intellectual property to the commercial marketplace. MITRE’s technology portfolio includes software, hardware, processes, algorithms, technical data, and other products that can be protected by copyright, patent, or trade secret.
MITRE is a not-for-profit national technology resource that provides systems engineering, research and development, and information technology support to the government. It operates federally funded research and development centers for the DOD, the FAA, and the IRS, with principal locations in Bedford, Massachusetts, and Northern Virginia.
The MITRE Corporation's Technology Transfer Program facilitates transfer to the public sector of knowledge and intellectual property developed through a variety of corporate programs.
